A single-leaf boat drifting through tradition and purity
Ellyeop Pyunjoo (일엽편주) is a premium Korean rice wine brewed at Nongam Jongtaek (농암 종택) in Andong, the historic head house of scholar-official Nongam Yi Hyeon-bo (1467–1555). The name “Ellyeop Pyunjoo”, meaning “one-leaf small boat,” originates from Nongam’s poem Eobu-ga (Fisherman’s Song), symbolizing simplicity, elegance, and harmony with nature.
Crafted only with rice, water, and traditional nuruk, the Yakju undergoes a two-stage fermentation process and is naturally aged for about 40 days. The clear portion is carefully separated without filtration, capturing the golden clarity and refined character of traditional Korean brewing.
The result is an elegant, balanced profile: smooth body, delicate sweetness, and a clean dry finish that evokes fine sake yet remains deeply Korean.
Tasting Notes
– Subtle floral and pear aromas with fresh grain accents
– Smooth and refined texture with balanced sweetness
